Tips and tricks for those who just bought the game.

• Research better infantry equipment, because it highly increases your soft attack
• Choose the superior firepower doctrine (right then left)
• Your strength is in numbers so pump out a lot of divisions
• Don’t battleplan into enemy lines unless you have already destroyed the majority of their army
• Building close air support can make this strategy go from OK to amazing, as long as you can keep up with the losses

• Research heavy tanks for multiplayer and medium tanks for single player
• Against AI you want to maximise the amount of soft attack your tanks have
• Against players put high-velocity cannons on them and make them tank destroyers to increase their hard attack
• Tanks are an integral part of HOI4 and this build has been relevant since the first days of the game and is still strong in PvP

• The navy is one of the most overlooked segments of HOI4, very few people understand how it works
• You can use this to your advantage — for example build a large navy as Germany and do a reverse D-Day (Operation Sealion)
• Despite this, the navy is still the least useful part of your arsenal because of its limited use cases
• If you don’t want bother too much with the navy, build submarines to disrupt enemy supply lines
