βThat is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal
longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.β

About me
Hi! I'm Hella. Welcome to my book corner, where I share what books I've been reading lately.
I've loved reading, ever since I was little, and the hobby stuck around ever since my childhood.
I read almost every day, sometimes even more than my schedule would allow. I also write my own
books, and although I never plan on publishing anything, I find it to be a great creative
outlet. If I don't feel like anything, I can always fall back to reading my own work!
Books I've read this year

This is the second and final book in The Book of Tea series and it did not disappoint. I came for the gorgeous cover but stayed for the intricate relationships, the unique magic system and the expansive mythology of the book, deeply rooted in Chinese folklore.

I honestly didn't expect to like this book this much, but ever since I've read it I find myself reaching for it more and more, rereading many of its teachings that I would like to live by. The book was a real eye opener. My favourite sentiment from the book is βDo the work, and then let it goβ, because it can help with anxiety and perfectionism. It's a must read for people even the slightest bit interested in Taoism!
If you don't want to read the book but are interested in its teachings, here is a great summary of Taoist ideals!

Cards on the Table by Agatha Christie

Our good old detective friend Poirot is back to solve another crime, with deceptive and multifaceted suspects. The cast is made up of rather extraordinary people, none more extraordinary than the victim of the crime. The story centers around a game of bridge, a card game that I still don't know how to play, but that didn't hinder my enjoyment at all. I recommend this book to anyone who might be as fascinated as me by seeing Poirot deduce the personality of the suspects by examining their style of playing.

The book is about an old Korean tale of the Sea God's bride, reimagined into a soft love story with a wide range of relatable characters and some real tear jerking moments. Even though I could guess the plot twists while reading, I still had fun with this book. The spirit world had many beauties to offer, and the author did a great job painting the scene with her words.
