Protect.", reflects its mission to maintain normalcy in a world filled with the unknown.

The SCP Foundation is a clandestine organization responsible for securing, containing, and protecting anomalous objects, entities, and phenomena that defy natural laws. Operating through a global network of underground facilities, the Foundation ensures that these anomalies remain hidden from the public to maintain normalcy and prevent mass panic. Each SCP (Special Containment Procedure) is assigned a unique number and classified into categories such as Safe, Euclid, or Keter, based on its level of threat and containment difficulty.

The SCP universe is a collaborative writing project that originated from online forums, with thousands of fictional SCP entries detailing everything from sentient creatures and reality-bending artifacts to eldritch horrors and interdimensional locations. The Foundation employs highly trained personnel, including researchers, security forces, and Mobile Task Forces (MTFs), to study, contain, or, if necessary, neutralize these anomalies.

The Foundation operates under strict secrecy, using misinformation, amnestics (memory-erasing drugs), and cover-ups to keep the existence of anomalies hidden. Its motto, "Secure. Contain. Protect.", embodies its mission to safeguard humanity from the unknown while expanding scientific understanding of the anomalies it encounters.

View SCP: Secret Laboratory – Echoes from the Veil 4

The screen fades in from black. A monitor can bee seen, which is set on a table, turning on.

The scene changes, showing a radio.

[0:06] Overseer.

[0:07] The Factotum's finished their analysis on the Insurgency's attacks on Sites 12 and 44.

[0:12] VERY GOOD, MAGISTER.

[0:14] AND WHAT HAVE YOU DISCOVERED?

[0:16] The expedition team sent to Site-44 has recovered several high profile objects,

[0:20] that will be moved to Site-02 as soon as possible.

[0:23] SCP-1344.

[0:24] SCP-127.

[0:25] IS THERE A REASON YET TO WORRY FOR OUR SAFETY?

[0:28] Nothing on the surface, sir.

[0:29] SO THERE IS SOMETHING THEN.

[0:31] WHAT ELSE IS THERE?

[0:33] We discovered 'minor breaches' in Site-12.

The video shows an article on a monitor with the title "Dead Alphabets Keep You Alive" and "An Introduction to Counterlinguistics".

[0:37] But there's no cause yet to be alarmed.

[0:38] TELL ME ABOUT THESE BREACHES, MAGISTER.

[0:41] WHAT OF THE LIBRARY? WHAT OF THE ARCHIVES?

The scene changes back to the radio from before.

[0:45] Most of the archive was burnt down by the invading insurgents.

[0:49] The rest, we believe, has been stolen.

[0:51] AND YOU CALL THAT A 'MINOR BREACH'

[0:55] It's... not something that we can't handle, sir.

More contents are revealed on the monitor from earlier, showing an e-mail that has been sent from a not fully visible person, to "bregman182@scp.int". The e-mail's subject is about the O5 Council being dissatisfied with presumably the sender and receiver's choices.

[0:57] DO YOU KNOW WHAT EXACTLY WAS STOLEN?

[1:00] Historical records.

[1:02] Mainly from old expeditions from the early Foundation.

The video once again changes back to the radio.

[1:04] LISTEN TO ME VERY CLOSELY, MAGISTER.

[1:06] OUR SECURITY HERE IN SITE-02 IS AT RISK.

[1:09] DANGER LOOMS ABOVE US.

[1:12] Sir, I don't understand.

[1:14] TELL YOUR STAFF THAT I WANT EVERY

[1:15] RETALIATION PLAN,

[1:17] EVERY COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE PLAN,

[1:19] EVERY ANTI MEMETIC CONTIGENCY PLAN

[1:21] READY FOR REVIEW

[1:22] IN THIS CHAMBER BY MIDNIGHT.

[1:24] Midnight?

[1:26] PREFERABLY WITHIN YOUR LIFETIME, MAGISTER.

[1:28] [Bubbles and background chatter]

[1:30] Very well, Overseer Twelve.

The video fades to black, showing us the logo of the game.
